Report from PUC Tournament

I'm sitting in the PUC Library and reflecting on the action of the week. What a week! The guys and girls are playing their hearts out.

The week started at home on Tuesday with the guys going to Double Over Time against Westwood. Unofficially, the Lumberjacks had never beat Westood, but this night the 9-1 Lumberjack Guys had the best chance ever. It was tied 50-50 at the end of regulation and 55-55 at the end of the first overtime period. The Redding Lumberjacks pulled it out over the Westwood Lumberjacks in the final period for a thrilling win.

Here at the tournament, both teams are 1 and 1. The boys won their first and lost their second, while the girls lost their first and won their second. The girls play at 8:00 p.m. this evening...so it's off to the game.

Check maxpreps.com and look for Redding teams. Then click on Redding Adventist Academy to see their roster and record.

Go Lumberjacks.

Wow

Permit me just a moment of crowing about the boys basketball team at Redding Adventist Academy. It's early in the season, but thus far they are...get this...8-0.

Now, winning isn't everything...and it certainly isn't the only thing. The Lumberjack staff, players and fans know that for sure. There have been many loosing seasons in the 10 years or so our school has put a team on the court. Sometimes the boys have only won 3 or 4 games all year. Once the girls team was 0 for 19, and got written up in the paper for having great sportsmanship and energy, despite the loosing record.

So...we deserve just a little bit of WOW...at the undefeated boys team this year. Great Job, guys...as as you know. Win or lose, we're proud of you.

PS

The girls team is 0 for 9 this year...still looking for win number one
